The Life Of Chuck

Book title: The Life Of Chuck

Author: Stephen King

The author of this story is an adult named Marty. Recently, the internet has been experiencing a shutdown, along with Netflix. When Marty opened Netflix, he was expecting the screen to black out. Indeed it had, but there was a short image of a man - Chuck (Charles) Kranz. It said: 39 GREAT YEARS OF SERVICE - THANK YOU CHUCK!

Yes, Indeed, Chuck was now taking his last few breaths at the hospital. Suddenly, Marty's phone rang. It was his ex-wife, Felicia. She worked as a nurse in the hospital. Recently, there have been a lot of people commiting suicide there, probably because of the internet problems. Felicia seemed to have some sense of reassurance when she heard his voice. After talking for a long time, they ended the call. The next day, Marty decided to visit Felicia, but since the hospital she worked at was far, he decided to cycle there.

But after realising that Felicia had gone back home, he decided to cycle again to her house. It was night by that time. Suddenly, the streetlamps damped and there was a blackout! After making his way through the darkness, Marty knocked on Felicia's door. Upon seeing him, Felicia felt relieved and two of them decided to go to her balcony to glance at the stars, that were brighter than ever......

Now lets move on to Chuck.

Chuck was lying on his bed, taking his last few breaths, while his relatives watched him while crying.

Now lets move on to what happened to Chuck when he was just a child - all about his life.

Chuck was just six when his parents died, so his grandparents took the responsibility of taking care of him. His grandfather now retired and he always made wood figures in the attic. One would think that the attic is a dreadful place, but to Chuck, it was not. It was full of bright lights, even in the day. His grandmother was what you can call a housewife. At the age of eleven, his grandmother passed away peacefully - one would describe her death as a peaceful death, without her feeling pain. Chuck's grandmother died while eating.

After getting over the death of his grandmother, Chuck found out that he had a knack for dancing. At the school prom day, he moonwalked in front of everyone and everyone was impressed. When he was practicing outside, however, he accidentally banged his hand on the outer wall, his hand was bleeding, which led to the star crescent shape scar that was on his hand today.

After his grandfather passed away, Chuck was already old enough to take care of himself. He was given the house and everything. Since young, his grandfather had forbid him from entering a room in the house and he stated that it was haunted, but when Chuck opened the door, he found that it was an ordinary room, with a great view of the city, and there was nothing in that room. Feeling happy with himself, Chuck closed the room door and walked away.

Now, Chuck has a wife and a son.

  Back to the present.

The heart machine beeped as Chuck's heart stopped beating......

Mr Harrington's phone

Book Title: Mr Harrington's Phone
Author: Stephen King
Total No of Pages: 88

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Craig. He is the narrator of this story.

His neighbour's name was Mr Harrington. Mr Harrington had recently moved in. Mr Harrington was a very successful business man and owned billions of dollars! But he had already retired and was really old, as he was already in his eighties. Mr Harrington only had a housekeeper and a gardener, thus the author would always go to his house and help out with some of the chores while also getting paid.

Mr Harrington was a stingy and unfriendly person, and he wanted everything to be perfect. One time, Mr Harrington decided to go to the author's house for a ulterior motive. Before Mr Harrington had even knocked on the door while holding his cane, the author's father had already opened the door. When Mr Harrington was in the house, the author's father gave him a sprite as he sat down.

After that, Mr Harrington made a proposal. He said that everyday, the author would go to his house and read a story to him. Mr Harrington would pick a book for the author to read to him and would get paid for every hour he read.

The next day, the author arrived at Mr Harrington's house and read him the book. Mr Harrington seemed to be impressed by the way the author read, but kept a stern expression. For many days, the author kept reading to Mr Harrington.

When Christmas arrived, the author opened his presents and realised that his father has got him an iphone! The author had always longed for one and was really happy when he got one!

When the next year arrived, the author realised that Mr Harrington had become less cold to him and had bonded closer to him. To the author, there was no more cold and stingy Mr Harrington, but a kind-hearted and friendly one.

The next year on Valentines' day, the author recieved a scratch note from Mr Harrington. Mr Harrington always gave out scratch notes. When the author scratched them, he realised that he had won the big prize! ($3000) He immediately went to Mr Harrington's house and told him the good news. Mr Harrington said that it was normal, as he had always given out scratch cards on special occasion and it was only a matter of time before one won the grand prize.

Wanting to thank Mr Harrington for what he had done, the author decided to buy a phone for Mr Harrington, but he declined politely, but after showing Mr Harrington the functions of the phone, Mr Harrington relented and decided to keep the phone.

Mr Harrington said that he would not use the phone much, but he got addicted almost immediately and used it very often.

When autumn came, the author did the usual he read Mr Harrington a book. When it was time to go, he said bye to Mr Harrington and told him that he would see him tomorrow, but the author did not know something - this was his last conversation with Mr Harrington.
The next day, the author found out that Mr Harrington was sitting on his favourite chair. He took the mirror that would turn misty if someone breathed on it, but when he found out that Mr Harrington was not breathing, he was shocked. That day was the day where the housekeeper took the day off!
After Mr Harrington was declared dead, the author attended his funeral. When he gave his last wishes to Mr Harrington and Mr Harrington was about to be buried underground, the author took Mr Harrington's phone, which he had took from his house, and put it in Mr Harrington's pocket which was near his chest. The author immediately dashed home, went to his room and cried his eyes out.

Shortly after, one of Mr Harrington's close friends gave him an envelope that contained $800 000 with a note inside by Mr Harrington. It was meant to pay off his school bills for the next few years.

Now when the author began middle school, there was a bully that tormented him. His name was Kenny Yanko, and he looked big and mighty to the author, but when he told the author to clean his shoes, the author refused and punched him back in the eye when he hit the author. Soon, it was the school dance event. Everyone was supposed to dress up and dance on that day. When the author was going to the toilet, he felt a strong hand grab him. It was Kenny Yanko! When the author refused to clean his shoes for him, Kenny Yanko shoved him across the carpark and the author suffered many bruises and was bleeding, but thankfully his friend brought him to the nurse's room and he got treated.

A few days later, the author found out that Kenny Yanko had passed away and it had turned out to be an accident. When he got home, he found out that he got a text from Mr Harrington! The author was shocked when he saw the text: CCC st! The texts kept coming to the author over the years. After graduating, the author got a job as a writer and bought another new iphone. The author also found a girl that he liked very much and got a girlfriend. He also made a very interesting new friend called U-Boat. When the author asked about the messages and why he could not reach Mr Harrington from his other phone, U-Boat mentioned that the first iphones were made very fast and probably weren't checked properly.

Hearing that, the next day, the author decided to leave his past behind and took the iphone that his father gave him and threw it very far away, and it landed into a fountain. The author wanted to throw away his other iphone too, but hesitated and in the end did not.
